August 7th: TRANSITION PRACTICE and PANCAKE FEED PLACE Boat ramp, Madera side, Millerton Lake WHEN All Members and non-members (guests) show up at 7:30 am to help set up. Start time is when we get it ready (as a group) est. start 8am. This is a transition practice/social event, it is designed to help you practice your transition technique and time. Everyone is expected to help What to bring Everything that you would take to T1 and T2 on race day. (Itemized list of suggestions to follow in another email). The critical item to bring is: Your watch, you will need it to time your buddy, you will partner up with someone and time them and then you will take your turn and they will time you. This is not a race outside of the transition in and out. What to do We will start at waters edge in wetsuits or race gear - up to you, if your race is going to be in a wetsuit, then wear it. This will be done in waves with 10 second go times, you will run, jog, walk up to T1, which = transition from swim to bike, the timer starts as you enter T1 and ends when you leave and mount your bike. Then starts again as you enter T2, which = transition from bike to run. And stops when you leave for the run. The bike course is a 1/2 mile loop. The run is about a 100 yard loop. I hope we will be able to do this 2 times each. If your a guest or member and just want to watch that’s OK, please offer to help with the Whole Grain and Pumpkin Pancakes that are on the menu, bannana’s, berries, nuts and fruit spreads provided. You want syrup,butter... BYO - healthy active lifestyle right??? Any one is welcome to go on bike ride after we are done cleaning up/breaking down. There will be different distances speeds -all welcome. I plan to ride Millerton Tri course and do a 10-15 minute run back at the boat ramp. Who to call John G. for any questions 960-5821 |
